From Cold Weather to Brick Wall: Our First Spring Project

Every year, we find ourselves eagerly awaiting the arrival of spring. After enduring a few weeks of biting cold, it seems like spring is finally making its way to Tronster’s neighborhood. The freezing temperatures have packed their bags and left, and it’s time to spruce up the “curb appeal.”

Sunshine and I have some exciting plans for our second year in Casa de Tronster. The first on the list? Revamping the front garden. She’s been dreaming of a brick wall to separate the yard. After a few YouTube tutorials, I thought I had it all figured out—quick, easy, and done right. But as the saying goes, every battle plan is perfect until you meet the enemy.

With a few questions to GROK, I calculated the number of landscaping bricks needed. Then, I asked if my trusty F150 could handle the load. Turns out, 110 bricks weigh more than my pickup can manage. No worries, I didn’t want to damage the truck. So, I compiled my list of supplies and opted for delivery from the local hardware store. Their website promised next-day delivery, which was a bit of a stretch. I placed the order, and voilà—I was scheduled for delivery three days later. Not ideal, but hey, it happens.

The order included Quickrete cement, and with rain in the forecast, I hoped they’d deliver it with some cover. I didn’t want my smoking hot wife lugging seven bags of concrete into the garage in the rain.

Thankfully, the materials arrived covered. Stay tuned for the next steps and see how I tackled building my first landscaping wall!

We hope you enjoyed this little adventure with us. Don’t forget to return to our blog for more updates and stories. And a special shoutout to my helper for polishing the final product!

My little helper on this post was Apple Writing Tools.
